Any update to corporate software requires caution, especially when it concerns critical information systems. In September and August 2026, IQusion concluded new agreements for access to Megapolis.DocNet updates. These agreements involve different approaches to licensing and the supply of new versions of the electronic document management system.

Software support agreements often differ in how usage rights are calculated. For example, a notice dated September 3rd concerns the provision of online access to updates for the Megapolis.DocNet system. This access will be valid until December 31st, 2026. Another agreement, which became known in August, relates to the supply of an updated version with licensing based on two processor cores. This is a technical unit of measurement for software rights, dependent on server characteristics rather than the actual number of users in the system.

How to prepare for changes

Having a valid agreement for ECM updates does not automatically mean the system meets all security requirements. Such characteristics are always checked separately for each specific environment. Each new platform version must go through the process from deployment on a test stand to a final decision on its use in the production environment.

Information system administrators should document the current configuration in advance. Before installing new components, it is necessary to check database compatibility, server settings, and the preservation of access rights for different roles.

Documentation and system rollback

In a regulated corporate environment, it is important to keep records of all changes. When planning work, responsible employees should be clearly identified, and formal permission to use the new version should be obtained.

It is also necessary to provide a reliable method for returning the system to its previous state. If errors occur during the update, the administrator must be able to quickly restore operation from a backup. Thorough documentation of each transition step helps to avoid prolonged disruptions to the company's operations.
